Angaria Delphinula

    ANGARIA DELPHINULA (Angaria Sphaerula)


  • This shell belongs to the Dolphin shell family. It is a gastropod.


  • The Angaria Delphinula are thick, heavily ornamented with varied colors. Some species develop long spines. The Angaria Delphinula has hollow spines. Lower half of body has stunted spines. The shell has spiral bands of olive green and red.


  • Habitat Indo-Pacific region from the Indian Ocean east to northern Australian shores. They are particularly abundant near the Philippines. They tend to like coral reefs. An intact shell is fairly rare.

    STROMBUS LISTERI (LISTER'S CONCH)


  • Strombus Listeri is a thin light weight shell. It has a smooth curved body. Its apertural lip extends outward. The outer edge is parallel with shell axis and ends with a finger like projection. This species belongs to the Conch family.


  • Habitat. The Strombus Listeri, sometimes called Lister's Conch is found in the Indo-Pacific region, ranging from the Indian Ocean east to the northern coast of Australia/New Zealand. Prefers deep water and is considered semi rare.
