GIANT CLAMS WHOLE OR HALVES
Giant Clams are thick, heavy shells. They have stong radial ribs, some have fluted scales. The scalloped edges of the two valves interlock. The byssus is extruded thru a gap between the valves; there are two adjacent muscle scars. Habitat. Indo-Pacific region living among coral reefs. Scientific name. Tridacna Squamosa.
